Practice

All classes are taught in the Mysore-style format as taught by the K. Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute in Mysore, India. The "one-by-one method" of teaching the asanas is followed. Beginners are welcome and encouraged to attend this format of practice.  Mysore-style Ashtanga Yoga is for everyone. 

The practice schedule:

Current students of the program with an established practice may arrive early. All others, beginners and traveling students, should arrive during the scheduled hours.

 Monday-Friday  6:30-8:00 AM
 Sunday              8:30-10:00 AM

Every student is taught individually according to current level of fitness and yoga experience with a special emphasis on teaching those with illness, injuries or structural issues that need to be accommodated to safely and effectively practice yoga. Beginners are welcome to practice with our community. 

All classes are appropriate for all levels.

Students come and go at different times. New students may arrive at any time. Beginners should expect to practice at least 45 minutes during the first class. Local and visiting students with an existing Ashtanga practice are welcomed to practice with us.

Private instruction is available for those who would like a more private introduction to this method before attending the on-going classes.
